This primarily herbivorous lizard with its distinctive red eyes and big jowls is from the rocky coastal areas of southern Cuba and its surrounding islets.There is also a introduced population in Isla Magueyes Puerto Rico .This Population was started from a group that escaped from a zoo,and has now multiplied and is thriving.
The Cuban rock iguana is one of the worlds largest iguanas with males reaching 4-5 feet long.
